Last December, Ryan Shazier gave football fans a scare when he went down with a season-ending spinal injury.
On Thursday, Shazier gave football fans some much better news.
The former Ohio State and current Pittsburgh Steelers star announced on his Instagram that he was discharged from the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Rehabilitation Institute:
Shazier will still have months of rehab ahead, which he’ll complete as part of an outpatient program. He’s reportedly still not walking yet, and it’s unknown what his complete time table for recovery looks like.
Still, Shazier’s good news was a major step in the right direction.
