Spencer Petras got things started off against Ohio State. The only problem was he threw an interception on the first play of the game.

Things are not off to a great start for Iowa in Columbus. That is now Petras’ fourth interception on the year. He also has just 2 touchdowns in 2022. Petras was intercepted by Oklahoma State transfer Tanner McCalister.

Luckily for Iowa, the defense was able to force Ohio State into taking a field goal after the turnover. The Hawkeyes are going to need a much better showing than that if they want to take down the Buckeyes in Columbus.

Iowa’s offensive struggles continue, but Iowa will be grateful that its only down by three points instead of seven after giving Ohio State great field position on its opening drive.

We’ll see if Iowa can rebound from the poor start on offense as the game is still in its early stages.
