“Who’s this 99 guy on the Rams?” Meyer apparently asked a member of staff, per The Athletic. “I’m hearing he might be a problem for us.”
Really, the lack of awareness was just the tip of the iceberg. Below are other instances that were highlighted throughout The Athletic’s story:

Per the report, Meyer also:
- Told quarterback Trevor Lawrence to “slow it down” for receiver John Brown, after running a bad route in practice. Meyer allegedly made the comment, “These boys from the South, their transcripts ain’t right.”
- Meyer reportedly belittled a player into tears during a team meeting.
Meyer was fired late during his first season with the Jaguars after compiling a 2-11 record. The growing resentment in the locker room was another reason for his termination.
