TCU quarterback and former Ohio State player Matthew Baldwin is calling it a career. The former member of the 2018 recruiting class has decided to step away from football due to medical concerns.

Baldwin sent a text message to Drew Davison of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram to confirm his decision. Back and knee injuries have been the complication for Baldwin on the field.

“Couldn’t get out of the injury loop with back and knee,” Baldwin said, according to the report.

Baldwin was a four-star member of Ohio State’s 2018 recruiting class. He spent one season with the Buckeyes, using that year as a redshirt season. Following the 2018 campaign, he opted to transfer to TCU before the start of the 2019 season.

He did not play a game or a take a snap for the Horned Frogs.

Baldwin is still expected to be a student at TCU.
