Terry McLaurin, a former Ohio State wide receiver who plays for the Washington Commanders in the NFL, suffered a toe injury during last week’s preseason matchup against Baltimore.

According to a report from Adam Schefter, the Commanders have since “expressed optimism” that McLaurin’s turf toe injury is not a serious one. However, it could cause him to miss the Commanders’ season opener against the Arizona Cardinals.

That game is scheduled for Sept. 10, just over 2 weeks from now:

McLaurin has been as dependable as they come for the Commanders since joining the league in 2019 out of OSU. The fewest yards he has totaled across a single season came all the way back in his rookie year when he totaled 919 yards with 7 touchdowns. As a rookie.

Since then McLaurin has kept above the 1,000 yard mark for 3 straight seasons. And with Sam Howell looking promising, the Commanders offense could be in for a strong season should he stay healthy.
