A former Buckeye is hoping he can find a spot on a new roster before the start of the NFL season.

According to John McClain of the Houston Chronicle, the Houston Texans waived wide receiver Braxton Miller on Friday. The former Ohio State star is in his third season in the league.

Miller is a former third round pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, getting selected by the Texans. In his first two seasons with the franchise, Miller caught 34 passes for 261 yards and two touchdowns.

This preseason, the wide receiver has 11 receptions for 122 yards.

Miller was a quarterback-turned-wide receiver at Ohio State after battling a season-ending injury in 2014.
