Chase Young is considered to be one of the top players available for the 2020 NFL Draft. Some have the Ohio State defensive lineman projected to be the No. 1 overall pick, and it’s unlikely he’d fall any lower than the top five, even from the worst projections.

And yet, there could be a chance that Young returns to Ohio State next season. That’s not just wishful thinking, the Heisman finalist says the plan is to return to Columbus next year.

In New York City on Friday night before the Heisman Trophy ceremony on Saturday, Young was asked about his future plans. In a video captured by TMZ Sports, Young was asked if he was focusing his attention on the NFL Draft.

“Nah,” Young responded.

Then, Young was asked if he was going to return to school. Young said “That’s the plan.”

Young finished the season with 16.5 sacks and forced six fumbles this year, earning himself a spot in New York City as a Heisman Trophy finalist. He’s been considered the most dominant defensive player in college football all year long.

Obviously there’s a lot going on right now for Young. Not only is he involved in the Heisman ceremony, Ohio State is focused on winning a national title, which starts with a Fiesta Bowl matchup against Clemson on Dec. 28.

Young has plenty of time to think about his options, and he could focus his attention on the NFL once Ohio State’s season is over. But just the thought of Young returning probably has B1G quarterbacks shuttering already.
