Justin Fields had one last opportunity to make his pitch to teams in the NFL.
Tuesday, Ohio State hosted its pro day, giving several players the opportunity to show of their skills to scouts, and potentially improve their stock heading into the 2021 NFL Draft. Fields took complete advantage of the opportunity, proving that he’s undoubtedly one of the best quarterbacks available in this year’s class.
Fields had a blazing 4.44 time in the 40-yard dash and was hitting receivers deep down the field during some arm strength drills. Everything he did on Tuesday was pretty impressive.
After his workout, Fields spoke with reporters with the opportunity to make his pitch to the NFL. He makes a pretty convincing argument.
“They’re going to get a leader,” Fields said, per 247Sports. “They’re going to get a hard worker, tough player, a great person on and off the field and just an overall dedicated, passionate player that wants to be great. So that’s what they’ll get out of me.”
Success came for Fields in a big way during his time in Columbus. He was 20-2 as the Ohio State starter, winning two B1G titles and making a pair of College Football Playoff appearances. He was also a two-time B1G Offensive Player of the Year selection and was a Heisman Trophy finalist in 2019.
Where Fields will land in the upcoming draft remains to be seen. But he took complete advantage of the opportunity on Tuesday, and may have helped his stock even more.
