It hasn’t taken long for Dwayne Haskins to erupt on the college football scene and become a household name. He’s done it all after an impressive three-week stretch to start the 2018 season.

On Wednesday, former NFL quarterback Trent Dilfer joined the Rich Eisen Show to talk about Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa and Haskins, comparing them to other quarterbacks across the nation.

Dilfer was extremely high on Tagovailoa, saying he’s the best quarterback he’s ever seen. He explained that the Bama QB’s athleticism, throwing ability, football IQ and maturity have all been impressive.

Then Dilfer talked about Haskins, another player he believes is one of the best in the sport and someone he thinks will make it to the NFL.

“Dwayne Haskins is in that next group,” Dilfer said. “We always kind of privately keep a list of guys we think will play in the NFL and he was one of those guys that we thought was a sure-fire NFL guy. He just has a passing pedigree that’s better than most. He’s got the passing traits that are really hard to teach.”

“He expands the offense. Dwayne, Tua and a handful of other guys are the guys who can expand their offenses.”

Through three games, Haskins has thrown for 890 yards and 11 TDs while completing 72.5 percent of his passes. He’s risen up the Heisman lists quickly and is already being considered one of the top players in the sport.
