TreVeyon Henderson says Ohio State expected a battle while facing Rutgers

TreVeyon Henderson and Ohio State sweated out a Week 10 win over Rutgers. Despite holding the No. 1 spot in the College Football Playoff rankings, the Buckeyes managed just 7 first-half points and were trailing at halftime.
However, the second half was a different story with Ohio State riding Henderson and scoring 28 points after halftime. While it wasn’t pretty, Henderson said after the game that the team was expecting a battle.
“It was a battle. We knew it was going to be a battle. It’s always a target on our back like they say: Ohio versus the world,” said Henderson. “We knew they were going to play their best game against us, but we just kept swinging. Like we always do, just keep fighting.”
In that matchup, Henderson led Ohio State in rushing and receiving while finishing with over 200 yards of offense. He has been a catalyst in back-to-back weeks for the Buckeyes, but he deflected the attention onto his teammates after the win.
“Just working, gotta put in the work… Shout out to the o-line, shout out to the receivers, QB, offense, the whole team,” Henderson said. “It’s all a team sport, without them I wouldn’t be able to do what I do, so shout out to my brothers.”
Ohio State will need to heat up a bit to make it down the stretch without a loss, but Henderson looks like a dynamic difference-maker now that he is healthy.
