Two more Ohio State freshman lose black stripe during spring practice
Two more Ohio State newcomers can officially call themselves Buckeyes.
On Tuesday, Ohio State announced that freshmen Reid Carrico and Emeka Egbuka lost their black stripes, bringing the total number of five players who have shed the stripe this spring. The official Twitter account of Ohio State posted videos regarding the accomplishment:

Egbuka was the second-highest ranked prospect in Ohio State’s recruiting class. He was the nation’s No. 9 overall prospect of the 2021 class and the No. 1 wide receiver. He came to Columbus as a 5-star prospect.
Carrico was a 4-star linebacker in the 2021 class and earned a ranking of the No. 86 overall prospect in the class. Per 247Sports, he was the No. 5 inside linebacker of the cycle.
It’s been a productive spring for a lot of Ohio State newcomers.
