Urban Meyer faced the media gauntlet Tuesday at Big Ten Media Days.

Among many things Meyer talked about with the media, he announced that freshman DB Marcus Hooker has been suspended for the season opener against Oregon State on September 1. Hooker was charged with driving under the influence, careless driving, disregarding a traffic lane and purchase of alcoholic beverage by a minor in Pennsylvania in mid-June.

Hooker had a reported blood alcohol level of .145 percent.

The New Castle, Pennsylvania, native was rated a 3-star prospect and ranked as the nation’s No. 60 overall CB and the state’s No. 20 overall prospect, according to 247Sports Composite Rankings.
