Urban Meyer has broken his silence. The suspended Ohio State coach took to Twitter Friday afternoon to release a lengthy statement in defense of his program’s values and how he’s handled protocol regarding reporting of issues at both Florida and Ohio State.

Meyer apologizes for the toll the recent events have taken on the Buckeye Family and admits he did not answer questions about allegations against former assistant Zach Smith properly at Big Ten Media Days. The statement implies Meyer reported a previous incident. His answer at Big Ten Media Days was that there had no been incident, contradicting a report by Brett McMurphy. Meyer’s statement also references rejoining the team “soon.”

The full statement, shared via his Twitter account, can be read in the image embedded below.
