Ohio State and Michigan don’t like each other. That’s obvious and putting it lightly, to say the least.

That means fans don’t want their team’s coaches to have relationships with the rival coaches, but in this day and age, a lot of coaches around the country talk to each other — even former Ohio State coach Urban Meyer and current Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh.

On an episode of “The Herd with Colin Cowherd” this week, Meyer discussed his relationship with Harbaugh, saying he thinks the Michigan coach is a good guy (via 247Sports):

“Excellent coach and a really good person,” Meyer said. “He called me when one of his former coaches was very ill and we wanted to honor him before the Ohio State game. He’s a very genuine person. I know his father from back in the days when he coached at Western Kentucky and I actually know his brother very well from when he was with the Eagles. So we get along fine, we just don’t spend much time together because we’re very busy.

“The rivalry is real and there’s dislike there, but the one thing I’ve always said and can guarantee at Ohio State there is always going to be respect for all those people and that rivalry, there can be no greater respect.”

Meyer won’t be coaching against Harbaugh anymore, but Ohio State fans probably hope he doesn’t get too chummy with his former rival.
