Ohio State announced on Sunday that Urban Meyer’s weekly Monday press conference had been canceled, providing no reasoning for the decision.
Monday, though, it was reported that Meyer actually left the state to be with a player’s family who is dealing with serious health issues. Tim May of The Columbus Dispatch made the report. The Buckeyes head coach is expected to be back in Columbus later in the day.
May’s report also states that the health concern does not involve Meyer or his family, but he felt it was dire enough to cancel the weekly press conference and make a trip out of state. The player and the family renamed unidentified.
Ohio State is coming off a 62-14 win over Maryland last Saturday and the Buckeyes are preparing for a road trip to Lincoln to battle Nebraska on Saturday.
