Ohio State’s defense will try to shut down one of the nation’s top offenses on Saturday when it travels to Penn State. And the Buckeyes will have to do it without Nick Bosa.

During his weekly press conference on Monday, Meyer provided an update on Bosa, saying the star defensive end is still a few weeks away from seeing the field. He will not play against Penn State on Saturday.

Bosa was injured during Ohio State’s Week 3 matchup against TCU. He left that game early after suffering an apparent abdominal and groin injury.

Last week, Meyer told reporters that Bosa had surgery for a core muscle injury. He did not play against Tulane on Saturday.

Although Bosa will miss a few more weeks this season, Meyer did say the defensive end plans to play again this season. He is still listed as out indefinitely.

Through three games this season, Bosa has recorded 14 tackles, six for loss and four sacks. He’s considered to be one of the best defensive linemen in college football and a future NFL first round draft pick.
