Grinch is an Ohio native who played ball at Mount Union College, so it’s not surprising to see him leave for Ohio State. However, during his time in Pullman, he made the Washington State defense one of the best units in the country.

In three seasons, he turned around the Cougars’ defense, having them improve from 103rd nationally to 28th in yards per play allowed, and from 117th to 47th in scoring.

According to Bucknuts 247, Grinch was targeted Willie Taggart at Florida State, Chad Morris at Arkansas, and Jimbo Fisher at Texas A&M. So, Ohio State got itself a good one.
