Baker Mayfield said it over and over leading up to Saturday’ top five matchup between Oklahoma and Ohio State. “It was embarrassing” to hear Ohio State sing its fight song on the Sooners’ home turf last year.

So Mayfield got some revenge, in more than one way.

After Oklahoma posted a 31-16 win over Ohio State, Mayfield took and Oklahoma ‘OU’ flag and planted right at midfield of Ohio Stadium. It was insult to injury for the second-ranked Buckeyes.

Mayfield explained his celebration to the media late Saturday night:

Mayfield threw for 386 yards and three touchdowns in the Oklahoma victory. It was also a huge step towards making a case for the College Football Playoff at the end of the season.
