Cardale Jones had a very strong arm at Ohio State.

After all, there’s a reason why the Buckeyes won a national title with Jones.

However, he didn’t do a ton of running as a Buckeye. Over his collegiate career, Jones showed his ability as a runner. The numbers weren’t bad. He took 153 carries for 617 yards and 4 TD.

Again, those numbers will work from your QB. But at Ohio State over the last few years, the Buckeyes have had guys like Terrelle Pryor, Braxton Miller and J.T. Barrett running up and down defenses.

Jones wasn’t like that. And in the NFL now with the Los Angeles Chargers, whenever he does get playing time behind starting QB Philip Rivers, he is likely to throw the ball.

Not run.

But in the Chargers’ fourth and final preseason game this season, Jones decided to make a play with his legs.

Hint: It worked.

Jones showed off his athletic abilities on this one. Again, you won’t see it often.

But the 6-foot-5 signal-caller is probably more athletic than you think.
