FOX Sports radio host Colin Cowherd isn’t wavering from his preseason prediction that Ohio State will be the national champion at the end of the season.
On his show Monday, Cowherd spoke with great confidence about the Buckeyes, saying the team is “different” than anyone else in the B1G. He claims they are bigger, faster, stronger and more athletic than any other team in the conference. Clearly, that Week 2 loss to Oklahoma hasn’t affected his thought process.
First, Cowherd said that Ohio State would beat Penn State convincingly this weekend and would eventually find itself in the title game in January.
“I think Ohio State is going to beat Penn State,” Cowherd said on Monday. “Ohio State literally looks different than everybody else in the B1G.”
That’s not an outrageous pick. After all, the odds makers in Vegas have favored the Buckeyes by a touchdown over the Nittany Lions on Saturday. But Cowherd’s next statement is what really caught everyone’s attention.
“I’ll say it again, I picked Ohio State to win the national championship. I think they’re going to beat Penn State by seven to 10 points and I think they’re going to end up in the championship game and I think they’re probably going to end up against Alabama. I think they’re going to house them. I really do.”
Getting to the title game is one thing, but “housing” Alabama? That seems a little far-fetched, considering the Crimson Tide have crushed everyone in their path this fall.
Kudos to Cowherd though, he hasn’t let that one loss affect his thinking and is standing behind his preseason prediction. He just may have taken it a little too far with that whole “housing” comment.
