The Buckeyes are gearing up for football season, but Ohio State’s basketball team also picked up a win Tuesday.
Meechie Johnson, a four-star guard out of Cleveland, Ohio, announced Tuesday that he is staying home to play with the Buckeyes. His father, Demetrius Johnson, tweeted out a video of Meechie announcing his decision.
Johnson is rated as the No. 5 combo guard nationally and the No. 3 player out of Ohio for the 2021 class. He is already Ohio State’s second commit for 2021, joining four-star power forward Kalen Etzler. That currently gives the Buckeyes the No. 3 and No. 7 players out of Ohio for 2021.
Blessed day for me and my family! I would like to take the time to thank ALL of the coaches who ever texted, called and offered my son. We’re truly blessed and grateful. With that being said, Meechie committed to The Ohio State University. Go BUCKS, we are staying home! pic.twitter.com/UpBaYL3hx3
