On Sunday, the four teams who will participate in this year’s College Football Playoff was released. Clemson came in at No. 1 to no surprise, followed by Oklahoma and Georgia at No. 2 and No. 3.

When it came to the No. 4 spot, it came down to either Alabama and Ohio State. The Crimson Tide are 11-1 and not a conference champion, while the Buckeyes are 11-2, conference champion, but one of their losses was a 31-point defeat to Iowa. And when it was shown that the committee went with Alabama over Ohio State, college football analyst Kirk Herbstreit was absolutely stunned.

Herbstreit was surprised that the selection committee went with a non-conference champion over a conference champion. However, if one were go to Twitter, a lot of people were not shocked that the Crimson Tide were chosen over the Buckeyes.
