Wyatt Davis is a pretty big dude. At 6-foot-4, 313 pounds, the sophomore offensive lineman has an intimidating frame. Unless, of course, you’re on his side.

That’s why Ohio State offensive line coach Greg Studrawa loves him.

Davis matches his huge frame with some pretty skilled play on the offensive line. As a redshirt freshman, he worked his way into the starting rotation last year and was a key player in Ohio State’s 13-1, B1G championship-winning season.

The size, strength and physicality that Davis possesses is what Studrawa loves about the sophomore lineman. So much, in fact, that he paid Davis a pretty high compliment on Thursday during camp.

“If I had my car parked at night and was walking out of a bar late, I’d be like ‘Wyatt, are you here?'” Studrawa said in a video posted by Colin Hass-Hill of Eleven Warriors. “And then I’d feel comfortable getting to my car. That’s how much I think of him.”

Joking aside, Studrawa had plenty of other compliments to give the sophomore lineman. His work ethic and attention to detail are among the reasons Davis has gained so much respect.

“He is a fighter, he is a technician, he is a perfectionist,” Studrawa said. “He wants to do it perfect, and if he doesn’t…That’s just the kind of guy he is. You just love to coach those kids because they love playing the game of football.”

Davis is a former five-star prospect and played in all 14 games for the Buckeyes a season ago, logging 241 offensive snaps. From the sound of Studrawa, he’s going to be a key cog on the OSU front line again in 2019.
