Mental health can be an intimidating topic to talk about, but that did not stop Ohio State’s Robert Landers from speaking up.
Landers took to Twitter Tuesday with a heartfelt and encouraging message for everyone. He began his video by sending out condolences to those affected by the recent shootings in Dayton, Ohio and El Paso, Texas. The Dayton shooting hit especially close to home as Landers is a Dayton native.
He admitted to struggling with mental health issues in his own life and wanted to encourage those who may be battling similar issues. When it comes to Landers’ battle with mental health, he said he learned to surround himself with good quality people. He encouraged others to do the same, to walk with their head high, and stay strong.
Landers finished his video with a brief message to the people of Dayton:
Walk with your head high and your heart strong… Take it one day at time, one step at a time, one second at a time… #937Strong #MentalHealth pic.twitter.com/hAvVIYhkun

Hopefully his words of encouragement will inspire others to be strong.
