Student-athletes don’t get much time off these days. Regardless of sport, offseason training, practices and in-season schedules don’t allow much personal time.
So, when they do get a few weeks for themselves, they take advantage. That’s especially true for Ohio State basketball star Ibrahima Diallo.
Diallo, an incoming freshman for Ohio State, made a long journey to his home country of Senegal to reunite with his family. It’s the first time the 7-footer has seen his family in over three years.
Buckeyes head coach Chris Holtmann shared a video of Diallo reuniting with his family. It’s as emotional and joyful as you might imagine.
The fellas are getting a few weeks back home to give all their great Mom’s a big hug. Ibrahima decided to surprise his family in Senegal. It’s been over 3 yrs since he’s seen his family. Special moment! pic.twitter.com/rhdPOPHens

What an awesome way to spend time off before the Buckeyes start hitting the practice floor.
Diallo is a 7-foot, 200-pound center who could be a big-time player for Ohio State. He may have a little extra motivation when he returns to Columbus, too.
