It wouldn’t be a college football Saturday without a questionable targeting call. This time the alleged culprit was Ohio State’s Jordan Fuller.

In the first half of the Nebraska-Ohio State game, Adrian Martinez fired a pass to tight end Kurt Rafdal. The throw was a little too high, causing Rafdal to try and make an off-balanced catch. As he came down, Fuller appeared to make contact with the tight end’s helmet.

The contact certainly wasn’t helmet-to-helmet, but the ruling of targeting was upheld. Fuller was ejected for the penalty.

The loss of Fuller was critical to Ohio State’s secondary. The Buckeyes were already without starting safety Isaiah Pryor and have been thin throughout the season.

Was targeting the right call in this situation? Or was it another missed call from the officials?
