WATCH: Shelley Meyer gets emotional during closing minutes of blowout win over Michigan

This win has to be a bit sweeter for Urban and Shelley Meyer.

The head coach of Ohio State and his wife have been thrust into the news on multiple occasions this season. It began over the summer as the Meyer family was thrust into the spotlight for the handling of domestic abuse allegations involving former assistant Zach Smith and his ex-wife Courtney.

As a result, Urban was suspended three games to begin the season. Later in the year, he battled health issues while appearing physically ill and drained on the sideline during games.

Needless to say, it has been a rough year for the Meyer family. Saturday’s 62-39 drubbing of Michigan has to help things a bit, and it’s understandable that Shelley became a bit emotional at the end of the big win.
