Nick Bosa said earlier this week that he had no interest in talking about the Heisman Trophy. He justified his statement by saying that he doesn’t believe a defensive player will win the award.

But the Ohio State defensive lineman continues to make a case for why his name belongs in the conversation.

During Saturday night’s primetime showdown between No. 4 Ohio State and No. 15 TCU, Bosa exploded past the Horned Frogs’ offensive line and strip-sacked quarterback Shawn Robinson. And it looked extremely painful.

The fumble was recovered in the end zone by Davon Hamilton to give the Buckeyes a two-score lead early in the matchup.

Bosa entered Saturday’s matchup with a league-best three sacks through the first two games of the season. He also recorded nine tackles, five of which were for loss.

Maybe a defensive player won’t win the Heisman Trophy anytime soon, but Bosa has proven through three games that he most certainly belongs in the conversation.
