Urban Meyer understood that he was going to have to answer some tough questions regarding recently terminated assistant coach Zach Smith at B1G Media Days on Tuesday. While at the podium in Chicago, the Ohio State head coach provided some reasoning behind his decision to fire his longtime assistant.
The focus shifted from football to the situation involving Smith yesterday, when it was reported that the assistant was allegedly involved in two separate domestic violence incidents. Monday night, Meyer decided to part ways with Smith.

He said what was reported in 2009 about an alleged domestic violence incident “wasn’t actually what happened” and a 2015 alleged incident does not exist.
