When the NFL Draft rolls around in a few weeks, there’s a good chance we already know which three names we’ll hear first.

Joe Burrow, Chase Young and Jeff Okudah are considered by many to be the top three players available in the 2020 NFL Draft. And, it’s likely that those three names are announced in that specific order on April 23, the first day of the draft.

All three players are unbelievably talented and are deserving first-round selections. Though they all play different positions on the field, former head coach Urban Meyer, who coached all three while at Ohio State, explains what they have in common.

“Oh, look at all three of them and the No. 1 thing they are is they’re maniac competitors,” Meyer said on FOX Football Now. “Chase Young, Okudah and even Joe Burrow. Joe Burrow’s skill set wasn’t as advanced because he was an all-state basketball player. But as far as fitting all five of those qualities, all five are right perfect, to a tee. And obviously, Joe went on to have two great years at LSU — one exceptional year — but he certainly fit that criteria.

Meyer explained those five qualities that he used to look for while at Ohio State.

“No. 1 is the competitive mania. Elite competitor, No. 1.,” Meyer said. “No. 2, is he tough? I don’t mean pain vs. injury tough, the difference between pain and injury. Does he come off the field? No. 3, is he a leader? Has he raised the level of play of those around him? No. 4, is he intelligent? Can he operate the football? It’s a very complex game. And No. 5, can he adapt? That means, if he’s a quarterback, when a play’s broken down, can he adapt because at tailback the hole’s not there, you’ve got to do something. Same thing on defense. If he’s an adaptable player, and you can do different things with him.”

All three players are considered to be the top prospects at their respective positions and could make an immediate impact on the field, regardless of where they’re selected.
