What Ryan Day said after Ohio State’s start to fall camp

Wednesday morning marked the start of fall camp for an eager Ohio State squad. Ohio State lost to Alabama in last season’s national championship game. With a strong roster, Ohio State hopes to finish the job this season.
Ohio State is being projected by various outlets as the favorites in the B1G. Ohio State has captured the B1G every season since 2017.
Ohio State coach Ryan Day addressed the media at the start of camp and touched on a variety of topics. Here’s a sampling of what he said:
Ryan Day says Palaie Gaoteote has not gotten a waiver from the NCAA yet, although Gaoteote was on the practice field today.

Ryan Day on Steele Chambers at linebacker: “He looks excellent out there moving around … There’s a great opportunity for him to get on the field there … I think he’s got a chance to have a major impact for us this year,” but Chambers is still moving back and forth.

Ryan Day said he thinks it will be “another week or so” until Ohio State will get an answer on Palaie Gaoteote, so he isn’t getting first- or second-team reps right now because the Buckeyes don’t know whether or not he will be eligible.
