It was another winning press conference for Ryan Day on Saturday night. Ohio State had an impressive performance in front of a national audience, defeating Penn State 38-25 in Happy Valley to improve to 2-0. The loss dropped Penn State to 0-2.
Ohio State started off hot, jumping out to a 21-3 lead in the 1st half before Penn State closed the gap to 21-6 at the break. The Nittany Lions offense was starting to click in the 2nd half, but the defense couldn’t get the stops necessary to get closer than 8 points to the Buckeyes in the final 30 minutes.
Justin Fields was spectacular, completing 28-of-34 passes for 318 yards and 4 touchdowns in the win. Ohio State’s rushing attack looked solid, totaling 208 yards on the ground, led by Master Teague III who piled up 110 yards and a touchdown on 23 carries.
It was another strong performance for the Buckeyes, despite some hiccups in the 2nd half. Here’s what Day had to say after the contest:

Ryan Day says the situation at the end of the first half was “completely mismanaged.” Said he thought Ohio State took at least four seconds off the clock. “I don't know how that only took one second.”
