Will Howard dealing with apparent hand injury vs. Texas
Will Howard is seemingly dealing with a hand injury as Ohio State battles Texas in the Cotton Bowl on Friday night.
ESPN’s broadcast caught a close-up look at Howard’s left hand, which features a significant bump.
Here’s a look at the injury as well as some brief commentary from Kirk Herbstreit:

As Herbstreit noted, Will Howard’s injury is to his non-throwing hand, which shouldn’t impact him too greatly as a passer in this game. It’s possible it could have a bigger impact on his physical running style, but that remains to be seen.
Replays showed Howard sustained the injury after his hand collided with the face mask of Texas defensive lineman Ethan Burke. So far, there’s been no indication that Howard will have to miss any of the game due to the injury.
Ohio State scored a touchdown on its opening drive, with Howard completing multiple impressive passes en route to the end zone. But Texas has provided a bit more resistance since then as the Buckeyes went scoreless on their next 3 drives.
Howard completed 13-of-17 passes for 125 yards to start the game.
