Will Howard delivers clutch 4th-down conversion on go-ahead drive for Ohio State
Will Howard just delivered the drive of his life for Ohio State, complete with a crucial 4th-down conversion for the quarterback. It has the Buckeyes still breathing and looking to go the distance with Texas in the Cotton Bowl.
In the 4th quarter, with the game tied at 14 points apiece, Howard drove Ohio State into Texas territory but had a 4th-and-2 on the edge of field goal range. Instead of trying a long-range kick, Ryan Day and Chip Kelly opted to go for it.
The call was a gutsy one with a QB keeper to Howard going right into the teeth of the defense. It worked to perfection and appeared to be ready to go the distance before he was tripped up.
Still, it was a major pickup for Will Howard and kept the drive alive:

Quinshon Judkins would eventually cap the drive with a short touchdown run, his 2nd of the game to give Ohio State a 21-14 lead with time starting to run short in this one. Texas is threatening and could tie things up once again, but the Buckeyes cashed in when they needed to thanks to Howard.
