Will Howard denied access to stage at Rose Bowl trophy presentation
Will Howard led the Ohio State Buckeyes to a dominant Rose Bowl win over the Oregon Ducks on Wednesday night. The quarterback threw for 319 yards and 3 touchdowns as the Buckeyes went on to win 41-21.
The QB was a key piece of the victory, consistently making big throws and not turning the ball over. One would think that would be enough to get the QB on the stage for the Rose Bowl trophy presentation, right?
Wrong.
10TV’s Adam King posted a video on social media that showed the QB being denied access to the podium.

Howard can be seen trying to get on the stage, but a Rose Bowl employee is seen blocking his way on. Tyleik Williams was seen motioning for the QB to jump up, but the QB insisted he couldn’t. People in the background could be heard imploring the employee to let Howard up, to no avail.
“Guys, there’s a weight limit apparently,” Howard said sarcastically to the onlookers.
While it makes sense to have a weight limit on the stage, you would think room would be made for the QB. Instead, the Rose Bowl representatives wouldn’t budge and Howard was forced to stand on the ground.
“They’re literally boxing me out,” said the QB, before moving to a different position.
Regardless, Howard had a great game and has had a great season for the Buckeyes. The QB will next lead his team against Texas in the Cotton Bowl.
