Will Howard is heading to Ohio State, the former Kansas State star quarterback announced on Thursday.

In a conversation with ESPN’s Pete Thamel, Howard pointed to a list of things on his list that the Buckeyes provided. Howard gives Ryan Day a veteran piece for the offense to work with as 5-star signee Air Noland arrives and develops in Columbus.

The decision is a major one for Day after a tumultuous start to bowl season. Starting QB Kyle McCord opted to transfer to Syracuse, and backup QB Devin Brown was injured early in a disastrous Cotton Bowl for the Buckeyes.

After the way the bowl game developed, many felt Ohio State could not stand pat at the position. In the following days, the Buckeyes were quickly linked to Howard, and now he’s on his way to Columbus.
