Zach Harrison, Lathan Ransom discuss multiple Buckeyes playing through injuries in Week 12
Ohio State is battling through a series of significant injuries on the defensive side of the ball. Junior defensive back Lathan Ransom said after the game that he broke his thumb on the first play in the Week 12 road game against Maryland.
Lathan Ransom said he broke his thumb on the first play of the game. He blocked the punt with his injured hand.
Zach Harrison said Tommy Eichenberg was playing with two broken hands.
Ryan Day said he’s hopeful Miyan Williams will be able to return next week.

Defensive end Zach Harrison also said that star linebacker Tommy Eichenberg is dealing with a pair of broken hands. After the game, Harrison talked about his concern about the injuries and his need to be on the field for Ohio State:
“If Tommy’s out there with two broken hands and Lathan’s dealing with what he’s been dealing with and they’re out there on the field playing, what do I got to say if I’m a little sore or my knee’s hurt or so and so. I just gotta go play. We all gotta go play.“

The offense is also dealing with some injury concerns as running back Miyan Williams and wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba did not play in Week 12. Head coach Ryan Day did confirm after the win over Maryland that he is hopeful that Williams will return in Week 13 at home against No. 3 Michigan.
