Zach Harrison knows what it’s like to be a 5-star recruit. In December 2018, Harrison signed with Ohio State over scholarship offers from Michigan, Penn State, Alabama and others.

Now, entering his fifth season in Columbus, Harrison is one of the Buckeyes’ older veterans. In recent years, OSU has added 5-star defensive linemen J.T. Tuimolau and Jack Sawyer. During a Tuesday media opportunity, Harrison was asked how Tuimolau and Sawyer have handled 5-star status.

“All that star stuff means absolutely nothing when you come in the door,” Harrison told reporters. “They did a good job coming in and just working, trusting us to help them out and what we see they can be.”

Harrison added that he expects “big things” from the pair of young former 5-stars in 2022. Both players are entering Year 2 with the Buckeyes.

Tuimolau played in all 13 games as a true freshman. Over 339 snaps, he totaled 17 tackles, including 4.5 for loss.

Sawyer also appeared in all 13 games of the 2021 season. As a true freshman, he logged 13 total tackles, including 3.0 TFLs (all quarterback sacks).
