Zach Smith had what many would call a meltdown on Twitter Wednesday afternoon.
Fans of course reacted because of the insanity of it all. But to start the former Ohio State assistant coach’s tirade on social media, he began with this:
Hey @Brett_McMurphy – Ready to start being a real journalist? Ya know… vetting a story?
Oh… no… you don’t know what I mean. Sorry!https://t.co/1skw7lSDBl

The Facebook post Smith left at the bottom of his tweet was a message from his mother, Lynn Bruce.
Here’s Bruce’s post:
If only Meyer were an honest Christian who had integrity, he would have said exactly what Bruce wrote out. But, unfortunately, he said something else.
Bruce’s post not only bashed Meyer, but backed her son — of course — in wake of the backlash he has received this offseason. Meyer has been suspended three games, but will be back to the sidelines to coach the Buckeyes in Week 4.
Ohio State’s 2018 schedule starts with Oregon State on Sept. 1, followed by Rutgers on Sept. 8 and TCU on Sept. 15. Meyer will be coaching again when the Buckeyes take on Tulane on Sept. 22.
