4-star 2023 cornerback with Penn State among finalists announces commitment decision
Ja’Keem Jackson is considered one of the top cornerback prospects in the country, with 247Sports ranking him No. 19 nationally among players at his position.
Thursday was commitment day for the Kissimmee (Fla.) Osceola standout, coming not long after teammate John Walker pledged to UCF. And Penn State was hoping to beat out a list of finalists that included Alabama, Auburn, Kentucky, Florida, and Tennessee.
Instead, Jackson opted to remain in the Sunshine State, announcing that he would play at Florida. He becomes the 13th commitment in the class of 2023 for Billy Napier.
Jackson, a 6-foot-1, 180-pounder, is considered the No. 37 player in the state of Florida by 247Sports’ composite rankings.
The Nittany Lions still have the No. 8 recruiting class in the country in the 2023 cycle. It’s led by 5-star commitment Alex Birchmeier, the nation’s No. 1 interior offensive lineman.
