One of the top prospects out of the state of Ohio in the 2022 recruiting class will be heading to Penn State to play college football.

Saturday afternoon, the Nittany Lions received a verbal commitment from 4-star wide receiver Kaden Saunders. The 5-foot-10, 172-pound Westerville, Ohio native made his announcement with a post on Twitter.

Saunders picked Penn State over offers from 14 other schools, including Ohio State, Texas, Michigan, Michigan State, Minnesota, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Purdue and TCU, among others.

According to 247Sports, Saunders ranks as the No. 6 player out of Ohio and the No. 21 wide receiver. Overall, Saunders is listed as the No. 170 prospect, regardless of position.

Saunders is the first player in the 2022 recruiting class to commit to Penn State. He does not currently have an evaluation on, but he’s been a top target for several high-profile programs early in his career.

Penn State’s 2021 class currently has 13 commits, ranking 25th nationally and 7th in the B1G.
