AD Sandy Barbour addresses policies for Penn State home games at Beaver Stadium
As the college football season inches closer, policies at schools in different states are continuing to vary. On Saturday, Penn State athletic director Sandy Barbour provided some updates on what to expect at Beaver Stadium this fall.
Per Audrey Snyder of The Athletic, Barbour said that Penn State is still preparing for full capacity at home football games, welcoming back in a crowd of 107,000 strong.
“Our plan is for full capacity,” Barbour said. “That’s where we stand right now.”

Concourse will be considered outdoors so a mask will not be required there in Beaver Stadium. Indoor ares are suites and press boxes (will require mask wearing there)

Sandy Barbour reiterates that Penn State is NOT going to require masking outdoors at Beaver Stadium unless CDC guidance were to change.

Barbour also said that masks will not be required outdoors or in the concourse. Indoor areas, which include suites and press boxes, will require individuals to wear masks.
Barbour also explained that’s the policy for now, but Penn State could alter those guidelines if new recommendations from the CDC change.
Penn State is scheduled to play seven home games this season. The Nittany Lions open the year on the road against Wisconsin before playing at Beaver Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 11 against Ball State.
The Nittany Lions will also play Auburn, Villanova, Indiana, Illinois, Michigan and Rutgers at home.
