Adisa Isaac was supposed to have a breakout season last year before suffering an offseason left leg injury that sidelined him for the remainder of the year.
He spoke with Penn State Feature Content Specialist Brian Tripp as the team practiced inside of Beaver Stadium on Tuesday.
Isaac has appeared in 20 games for James Franklin’s squad since stepping on campus in 2019. In the seasons that he has been healthy he has 27 total tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, and 3 sacks. The Penn State DE stated that he is feeling especially grateful since coming back from his injury.
“It’s great,” said Isaac. “Coming back from an injury, I haven’t been here in a long time. I’m happy to be back with my team, my brothers and I’m ready to go for the season.”
Tripp also asked Isaac about what he has learned so far at camp. Isaac has been trying to take a lot of mental reps.
“I took a lot of mental reps,” said Isaac. “Throughout practice, and throughout the season last year just watching from a coach’s perspective. I’ve picked up a lot from that, and it’s definitely paying off on the field.”
