Sophomore running back Andre Robinson is reportedly transferring from Penn State.

According to the Centre Daily Times, Robinson has decided to leave the program and pursue other opportunities. There was no reason given behind Robinson’s decision to transfer out of State College.

He will have two years of eligibility remaining.

This comes as somewhat of a surprise, as Robinson was expected to compete for the No. 1 spot next season with Miles Sanders and Mark Allen as star back Saquon Barkley is expected to enter the NFL Draft following Penn State’s Fiesta Bowl game against Washington.

A redshirt sophomore, Robinson rushed for 196 yards and six touchdowns the last two seasons. He was more effective in 2016, rushing for 141 yards and five touchdowns during the Nittany Lions’ B1G title run. He also had a 40-yard touchdown reception last season.

Robinson had just nine carries this season and totaled 55 yards and a touchdown. He also had one reception for five yards.
