Andrew Funk had a big role in Penn State’s 74-59 upset win over Illinois on Saturday. The Nittany Lions G knocked down tough shot after tough shot when it mattered the most.

Funk is averaging 10 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 1.6 assists this season after transferring in from Bucknell.

Funk came through in the clutch for Penn State when his team needed him. One of his best stretches was during the second half where he hit three huge shots. The Nittany Lions G hit a pair of three-pointers and a contested mid-range jumper to increase their lead.

Funk had 20 points, 3 rebounds, and 2 assists when the final buzzer sounded.

Another player who had a great game for Penn State was Jalen Pickett. Pickett finished the game with 20 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 assists. Myles Dread (15 points) and Seth Lundy (16 points) also had solid games.

The Nittany Lions shot the ball very well in the game, making 50% of their shots from the floor. Penn State also hit half of their three-point attempts. Penn State had success from the charity stripe as well, hitting 80%.

This win moves Penn State to 7-3 on the season. The Nittany Lions will face Canisius next on Dec. 18. Tip off for that game will be at noon ET on BTN.
