Penn State DE Arnold Ebiketie announced earlier on Tuesday that he is declaring for the 2022 NFL Draft, and will be opting out of the Outback Bowl.

Ebiketie was a redshirt senior that originally transferred from Temple in December of 2020 after being with the Owls from 2017 to 2020. He had 34 solo tackles, 9.5 sacks, and 2 forced fumbles this season for the Nittany Lions.

Here’s what he had to say in his Twitter post about his decision:

“Nittany Nation, thank you for the love and support. I can’t begin to express my gratitude fully for the support from the fans,” said Ebiketie. “It’s been an honor to suit up in the Blue & White with this legendary fan base cheering us on. With that being said, I have decided to forego our bowl game and declare for the 2022 NFL Draft. From one dream to the next, I thank every person who has supported and helped me make this dream a reality. We Are!”

That makes 5 Penn State players who will not be playing in the Outback Bowl. Ebiketie joins DB Jaquan Brisker, LB Brandon Smith, LB Ellis Brooks, and WR Jahan Dotson.

You can watch 7-5  Penn State as they take on No. 21 Arkansas in the Outback Bowl on New Year’s Day at 12 p.m. ET on ESPN2.
