When Chris Bleich dropped his Penn State commitment on Friday, there was speculation that Penn State could have something else in the works.

As it turned out, the Lions did.

Ahead of Saturday’s spring game, Penn State picked up a verbal commitment from four-star offensive tackle Nana Asiedu:

Asiedu is the No. 9 offensive tackle and the No. 82 player overall in the 2018 class (247sports composite). His commitment came while he was in State College for Penn State’s spring game.

The 6-6, 265-pound Stafford, Va. recruit has some major offers on the table. Clemson, Florida State, Georgia, Miami (FL), Michigan and Oregon all offered Asiedu, but he picked the Lions.

That’s a nice early victory for Penn State, which continues to build a loaded 2018 class. The Lions now have 12 commitments, including six in the 247sports top 100.

Penn State’s 2018 class is ranked No. 1 in the B1G and No. 2 overall, trailing only Miami (FL).
