Big Ten Network analyst Joshua E. Perry is high on Penn State receiver Jahan Dotson.

Perry ranked Dotson at No. 7 on his list of top 30 players in the Big Ten entering the 2021 season.

Perry explained some of his reasoning, which has everything to do with his big play ability on offense and on special teams.

“Jahan Dotson’s never going to be the biggest guy on the football field,” Perry said. “But what he lacks in size, he will make up in playmaking ability. Here’s a guy that you watch on the field, comes out explosive as can be, 8 touchdowns last year. Nearly 100 yards receiving a game.

“But here’s the kicker: You put him back there at punt returner and you never know what’s going to happen. He’s got the hot hand, he’s got some amazing feet. He can make you miss in a phone booth and that’s what’s super exciting. As we go down and we see all the playmakers (on this list), he’s one guy I’m extremely excited about.”

Last season, Dotson produced 884 yards and 8 touchdowns in just nine games. He finished third in the Big Ten with 98.2 yards per game despite the Nittany Lions battling inconsistency at the quarterback position for much of the season.

He was also a weapon on special teams. Dotson returned 8 punts for 197 yards and 1 touchdown, which came against Michigan State last December.

Penn State opens its 2021 season with Wisconsin on Sept. 4.
