Beer at Beaver Stadium: Penn State fans prepare for first-ever alcohol sales during Northwestern game
Penn State Athletics will begin beer sales this Saturday during the Northwestern matchup. It marks the first sales since the school’s Board of Trustees approved the measure in September.
With the exception of areas close to the student section, beer will be available for purchase throughout Beaver Stadium. Fans 21 years or age and older can purchase a maximum of two beverages (16 oz. cans) at any one time. Beer sales will conclude at the end of the third quarter, and alcohol is not permitted to leave the stadium.
The association announced in their press release that purchasers will be required to show a government ID to obtain a wristband, and all IDs will be scanned to confirm they are legitimate. For security purposes, all transactions will be cashless.
Beaver stadium announced that Miller Lite, Coors Lite, Blue Moon, and Michelob Ultra will be the beer brands available in the stadium.
Fans in Happy Valley were certainly happy with the news, showing off pics of full beer coolers and alcohol purchases on social media.
