A former Penn State quarterback has landed on an NFL practice squad.

Bruce Feldman of The Athletic reported that former Nittany Lions gunslinger Christian Hackenberg had landed on the Cincinnati Bengals’ practice squad ahead of the start of the NFL season. Last week, Hackenberg was cut by the Philadelphia Eagles.

Hackenberg is a former second round draft pick, going No. 51 overall in the 2016 NFL Draft. He was selected by the New York Jets.

But the former Penn State star has struggled to gain any traction in the professional ranks. In three years, he’s played with the Jets, Eagles, Oakland Raiders and now the Bengals.
